Dutch take reins from Canada: Afghan Mission.

I've thought that with the Tories popularity dropping somewhat, that it was necessary (in order to change that trend), something had to be done with Afghanistan. Canadians are worried about the many troops that have been killed in the Southern part of Afghanistan where our troops are stationed. And rightfully so. Maybe this is the answer. Though, I'm not sure what will happen to our troops after this. The Dutch Army will be stationed in the South, perhaps possibly along side our troops. Still, I'm not sure. I've added a couple of links. Both are from the National Post on the Dutch Army and the other on Helicopters. It mentions that the defense department is buying these choppers so they can be used in Afghanistan. The Defense dept. denies this. I say they should. A lot of our troops have been killed by roadside bombs. Helicopters that will deploy troops from one area to the other will be safe from this. The biggest issue after this is anti-aircraft weapons. Does the taliban even have them? We shouldn't let politics get in the way. Anyways, by the time this equipment becomes operational (2008), we could loose a lot more of our men and women of our armed forces. I just hope Harper will be able come through this. Most Canadians support our troops but we are concerned about the mission. Pray and support our troops.
