Ignoring Canada's Conservatives leaders
Yesterday in the National Post, Barbara Kay wrote about the Academia's ignorance of some the finest Conservative Authors. Mark Stein and his book "America Alone" being the latest example. So, I'll offer my apologies since I'm guessing there were at least a few BT'ers who have already posted on this. It certainly got the attention of NP readers as seen in the letters to the Editor. I couldn't post yesterday 'cause my PC wouldn't connect to the Net. Just quickly, I'll tell you about a book I picked up at recently. Canada Strong and Free by Preston Manning and Mike Harris could not be found at any bookstore in Toronto. Including 'World''s biggest Bookstore" (WBB) I tried Chapters, and the local Library. No dice. I put an order in for the book. The political section at the WBB is down stairs and in the back. A look at the front of the Chapters/Indigo store, does not reveal any books from Conservative Authors. pt. 1
pt. 2 I think these bookstores could pay a price just like the Newspapers. People could start buying their books and Movies on EBay and other Internet places. Again, sorry for the late posting of this.

I feel your pain, although I'm not sure if its symptomatic of Liberal bias or general incompetence in Canadian retailing. Regrettably, the Americans have to show us how it is done. Thank god for Amazon.ca.
Uh...if you're such of fan, you might learn how to spell "Mark Steyn."
Or you might condsider reading Carl Marks instead.
Ignore the fools that believe that simply spelling a name wrong discredits the entire argument you're trying to make.
They can't make a valid counter argument, so all they can do is pick up on a spelling mistake.
So, are you guys in favour of the marketplace determining which books should be on the shelves in stores, or are particular ideological works to be mandatory? Maybe Chapters doesn't stock crappy books because people don't buy crappy books.
Now, after Steyn put so much tireless effort into extolling the glories of the invasion of Iraq, I'm very interested in finding out what other recommendations he might make. So that I can do the opposite.
There were more responses to Barbara Kay's column in today's National Post (Nov. 10-06). Her column is excellent.
Where did you eventually find the Manning/Harris book?
To Stephen's 7th. comment. I checked several Chapters bookstores
none of which had it. (It's not very thick). I ordered it at the World's Biggest Bookstore in Downtown Toronto. I ordered it, so initially, they didn't have it either. It took Three weeks to deliver.
