Take that liberals.
Okay look, I'm not exactly happy about Flaherty's announcement to tax income trusts. But I, like a lot of us will support these Conservatives. So the latest poll conducted from Tues. to Friday shows that the Tories are holding firm in opinion. They say that the time to watch polls is when the Lie-brals elect a new leader, and despite what some critics my say, I think the next leader will be Stephane Dion. I believe it.

at 37%, the cons are down 1% since the election. first off, a more bias poll you couldn't find and secondly, the libs still have no leader. harper's a trainwreck, why are you so happy?
I agree with Jeff, we need a new leader, Canadians are onto him.
jeff said, the cons are down 1% since the election.
Wow so what. Down 1% and all they've had to deal with is 3 obstinant opposition parties, umpteen special intrest groups, the Liberal MSM.
Conservatives raised $3.7 million in donations in the third quarter of 2006, compared to the Liberals, who are in the midst of a leadership campaign and were only able to muster $904,000 in the same period.
Who knew?
As for Harper being a traniwreck, you must be off your meds, I don't know. My guess is the only trainwreck will the one the Liberal suffers after the next election.
We have to move ahead, this blaming of the liberal msm is useless, untrue (we had every editor in the county in our pocket last election) and will not make us a majority party, we need to be able to offer intelligent discussion as a party, we need a leader that can offer this, 2/3rds of Canadians voted aginst us.
905neocon...we need a new leader???
I want some of what you are smoking!!! Yeah, let's get rid of the guy who got us a conservative government. The guy who has done an outstanding job, and looks like he was born to lead. Makes sense...if you sniff glue.
So what if a few polls (no doubt fair and balanced) are negative...let's panic.
Grow some stones.
Just out of curiosity, why do you support a conservative government?
And more specifically, what about this current government is conservative with respect to foreign policy, domestic policy and social policy?
To Jeff I say this. I'm happy because the Tories are well ahead of the Lie-brals. Even in Quebec. And I'm gonna beat you in the next election, when we form a Majority Gov't. and your comments will be left by the ways.... So there!!!
This is for Rural Ontario Liberal:
Sir/Madame: re: your questions, cited herein.
"...Just out of curiosity, why do you support a conservative government?..."
BECAUSE IT ISN'T THE ARROGANT AND CROOKED LIBERALS WITH THEIR HAND IN THE TILL!! (Shawinigate, Grand Mere Golf Club, Radwanski, Volpe, Fry, HRDC Boondoggle, Billions of dollars vanished in the Gun Registry's horriffic cost over-runs, the Sponsorship scam -- and there's still more slime to come oozing out of this festering wound. Six to eight billion dollars more wasted and unaccounted for in the liberal 'de facto' destruction of their much-touted Kyoto Accord. One cannot honestly believe that the shameful delivery of 36% INCREASES in G.H.G. emmissions can in any way be construed as 'honouring' any international agreement, regardless of how one chooses to phrase the issue, regardless of the nature and amount of 'spin' one applies to the issue. Need moreslaps upside the head? I've got 'em! It's all info readily available in the public domaine. I don't think that it'd be worth my further wasting of time on these questions. The only reason(s) I can see as possible explanations for your questions:
(1) you had been abducted by aliens, have been probed and finally returned to the planet Earth,
or
(2) you've been in a deep coma. You've been kissed by the froggy-half-prince, and are you are now trying to play catch-up.
GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!!
"...And more specifically, what about this current government is conservative with respect to foreign policy, domestic policy and social policy?..."
THEY ACTUALLY *DO HAVE* POLICIES IN THESE AREAS. RATHER THAN NOT HAVING POLICIES!
NO DOUBLE-SPEAK, NO BACK-PEDALLING, NO DITHERING, NO "ALL-OVER-THE-PLACE" IDEALOGICALLY-DRIVEN PSEUDO-"PROGRESSIVE" TRIPE OF "WE HATE BUSH AND THE U.S.A." (most of the lib. machine), AND/OR "HEY! WE'RE BUSH'S BESTEST PALS, AND WE'RE HIS SHARP POINTY TIP OF THE SPEAR WHEN IT COMES TO USING TORTURE TO GET THINGS DONE!" (the Kount Iggy factoids.)
NOW, AREN'TCHEW GLADYOU ASKED??
Unfortunately we dont have very good policy, pmsh is set to win the next election by pitting the citezens against each other. Really can we expect to win a majority, or do we want to win a majority by damaging the fabric of Canada. It would be shamefull to win this way, power at any cost just for power rather than policy. I look at the liberal leadership contest, and with the exception of volpe find my self unfortunately wanting a leader with magnetism.
as for many of the comments here.
Why are we unable to offer intelligent debate. Why do we leave that to the left.
905 neocon?
whut in blazes are you on about?
The very fabric of Canada has been sorely abused by rhe 'natural thieving party of Canada' -- that'd be the Liberals, if you;re just coming out of your coma.
To Tango/Juliette, you asked rural ontario liberal if he/she was happy
they asked. Well all I can say is, I'm glad you answered. Great.
Southern tory:
Thanks for that.
tj
Jeff, the Conservatives got 36% in the election, and the Liberals got 30%. The gap has actually widened by 2%. It even says so in the article.
Yeah, I support the Tories too. But since they just cost me $20 000 of my nest egg, they can kiss my poor broke butt if they think they're getting any contributions for the next few years.
